Our Story & Legacy
Founded in September 1996 in Bethlehem, the Bethlehem Academy of Music (BAM) stands as a cultural and educational landmark in Palestine. The academy was created by a dedicated group of local musicians and educators who shared a bold vision: to cultivate a vibrant musical culture and provide high-quality music education for generations across Palestine.
As a non-governmental, non-profit institution, BAM has been committed from the very beginning to serving as a home for creativity—a place where passion meets professionalism. Today, the academy offers comprehensive programs in both Western and Oriental music, welcoming students of all ages and skill levels, from young beginners to aspiring talents and advanced musicians.
For more than a quarter of a century, BAM has been far more than an educational institution. It has become a space where memories are made, talents are discovered, heritage is preserved, and the musical voice of Palestine is amplified to the world. Our legacy is built on experience, creativity, and a deep commitment to nurturing a strong and inspiring musical community.
At the Bethlehem Academy of Music, we continue our mission with greater confidence, broader vision, and ambitions worthy of our history and legacy.
Our Vision & Mission
We envision a progressive Palestinian society enriched by Palestinian, Arab, and global musical heritage—where music strengthens identity, inspires creativity, and fosters cultural pride. Guided by this vision, our mission is to elevate the musical and cultural life in Palestine through an inspiring educational environment and comprehensive programs in learning, awareness, artistic production, and community engagement.
