The Nay is an end-blown flute made of reed, known for its soft, breathy, and emotive sound. It is one of the oldest instruments still in use today and plays a vital role in Arabic classical and Sufi music.
At the academy, Nay students begin by mastering breath control and tone production. The focus is on developing expressive phrasing, spiritual depth, and a solid grasp of maqam (Arabic musical scales).
